Who am I, and why do I care so much?
Ever since I could walk I have felt a deep connection to the natural world, it’s like I need to be surrounded by nature, a protector. I feel things and see things that others do not, I think I am very lucky and this makes me who I am as a person.
But with such high’s and an immense passion comes big emotions and difficult disappointments- seeing the world and the damage we have caused to wildlife and it’s natural ecosystems is so difficult.
So how can I make change? Well I can only really have control of my immediate surroundings. If I can try to influence the people around me by doing my best, maybe that can help. A great man (my dad) once said “just ####ing get on with it Sam” So now I do, I do my best and try to show that there is a different way of ‘doing’, and a different way of ‘being’.
I started Sam’s Sanctuary as a wildlife gardening business, with the initial focus on private gardens and turning sterile concrete spaces into organic wildlife habitats that we can enjoy and be a part of.
Now, through progression my aim is to have a larger and more powerful impact for wildlife, on top of my gardening. By offering information and how to’s, consultations, certifications and to eventually offer online courses for schools and individuals.
My hope is to inspire and make it easier for people to understand how to make changes to benefit wildlife, so that they can implement my ways and processes themselves.
